Lagarde: IMF should focus on employment

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Christine Lagarde, recently chosen as the new managing director of the International Monetary Fund, said that employment will be her key focus, even more than the fiscal deficits that have swamped the world economy.

(Reuters) - European Union officials are working on a contingency plan for Greece if its parliament rejects an austerity program and the country cannot receive the next instalment of EU/IMF emergency loans, three euro zone sources said on Monday.
