Denbury's processing plant south of Houston separates the mixture recovered by injecting carbon dioxide into wells at its Hastings field. The company sends the oil to a pipeline for shipping to customers, recycles some CO2 back through the reservoir and injects water deep underground to protect higher-level aquifers.
