Unit Trusts
A Unit Trust is a legal structure where the legal ownership of trust assets is held by a Trustee on trust for the benefit of unitholders. Unit Trusts may be established in Jersey subject to the provisions of the Trusts (Jersey) Law 1984. Under Jersey law, a Unit Trust must be constituted by a written trust instrument. The Unit Trust instrument sets out the terms on which the Trustee holds the Unit Trust assets.

Russian Classification of Reserves
The estimation of reserves of natural gas, gas condensate and crude oil can be broken down into two components: (i) geological reserves, or the quantities of natural gas, gas condensate and crude oil contained in the subsoil and (ii) extractable reserves, or the portion of geological reserves whose extraction from the subsoil as of the date the reserves are calculated is economically efficient given market conditions and rational use of modern extraction equipment and technologies and taking into account compliance with the requirements of subsoil and environmental protection.

Throughout Chile’s history, mining has consistently been a leading industry in the country. The 1990s marked the beginning of a boom in Chile’s mining industry, especially in copper mining, principally due to FDI in the sector. In this time period Chile had one of the fastest growing economies in the world and mining accounted for 8.5% of the GDP and 47% of exports (source: Encyclopedia of the Nations). Thanks to continual amendments of the mining industry framework and an investor-friendly environment, the industry is still strong and profitable for investors. Moreover, the ongoing establishment of new technologies, including those aiming to take better care and advantage of Chile’s natural resources, promises the mining sector will continue to prosper in years to come.

Not so long ago, Harry Macklowe was perhaps best known for his long-running feud with billionaire homemaker Martha Stewart.
Throughout the mid-1990s, the two East Hampton, New York, neighbors engaged in a thorny battle over the size of Macklowe’s hedges, his lighting fixtures, and a fence that Stewart complained blocked her view of a pond. The feud cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and became juicy tabloid fodder when Macklowe’s 23-year-old handyman accused Stewart of pinning him against a gate control box with her Chevy Suburban.
